Mental health is a critical component of our everyday lives. Just as we strive to maintain our physical health through regular exercise and healthy eating habits, mental health requires the same level of attention and care; however, despite its impact on our well being, mental health is not always viewed as important as our physical health.
For students, a positive mental health state is key to success inside and outside of the classroom. If a student suffers from a mental health disorder, such as anxiety or depression, learning in the classroom and completing daily tasks become increasingly more difficult to accomplish. Reported stress levels in students have sky rocketed in recent years. It is a necessity to promote mental health awareness and educate students on ways to take care of themselves and recognize signs of mental health disorders.
