MISSION OF TES COUNSELING
Trinity’s mission is to enable students to Discover Their Path. The counseling program supports that mission through a proactive approach that seeks to give students the tools they need for self-discovery. Whether that means implementing programs on study skills or stress management, or working with students one-on-one, Trinity’s counseling program provides signposts along students’ paths. The counseling program believes in a holistic approach to education in which every component of each student is taken into account: academic, social, emotional, and spiritual. As a college-preparatory school, Trinity’s job is to create individuals who are ready to thrive in the next step in their lives. The counseling program supports this aim through grade-level specific programs as well as individual guidance. The program collaborates with faculty, parents, and students to achieve a symbiosis that is one more element to success along their own unique path.
TRINITY SCHOOL COUNSELOR'S ROLE
Individual CounselingAll students 8th through 12th grade are able to schedule individual meetings with the school counselor at any point in the year. These meetings usually take place during students' free time, such as study halls or Discovery period. Parents are also invited to set up a meeting with the school counselor if desired. (Please see the "Counseling Support" section of this website to set up a meeting with the school counselor).

Large Group SettingsIn addition to individual meetings with students, the school counselor also engages with larger groups throughout the year through classroom guidance lessons and school-wide events. Classroom guidance lessons vary in content, but include topics such as self-care, giving back to others, transitioning to college, and mental health awareness. The school counselor will assist in teaching specific lessons for the Titan Prep program for 8th and 9th graders and will cover a variety of topics through these lessons throughout the year. Additionally, the school counselor is closely involved with IB students and provides lessons catered to the specific and unique needs of that group.
